RED BULL DEFIANCE WANAKA GETS UNDER WAY

The 2019 Red Bull Defiance is underway with a cool and breezy start to Day One.
Red Bull Defiance teams started on time at 8.30am this morning and are currently mountain biking around the far western side of Lake Wanaka through the high country Minaret Station.
X4 teams get underway at 9am followed by riders on the single stage Giant Minaret Burn Mountain bike.

Teams are carrying GPS Yellow Brick tracking devices and can be followed on live tracking on the Red Bull Defiance site. Red Bull Defiance race director Bex Law says teams are pumped and highly competitive. “It’s anyones race really without Braden Currie leading the field this year but I think early indications are good for team Ben Elliot, the Has Beens and Placemakers but watch this space!”
